The Pronghorn Club is a private club and gated community with two 18 hole championship golf courses available to guests of the on-site accommodations.
The setting is in the high desert on a 600+ acre tract surrounded by BLM land near Mt Bachelor between Redmond and Bend. The Nicklaus course is a classic, risk/reward, Nicklaus layout. The routing is links-style through the desert scrub and brush with Juniper tree lined fairways at 3,200 feet in elevation providing stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The course can play long at 7,379 yards from the tips or as short as 5,256 yards, the gold tees play to 6,000 yards, 68.9/135, course/slope ratings.
The Fazio course tumbles over rolling terrain along contoured fairways framed by junipers and lava rock outcroppings featuring a 45-foot canyon and exposed lava tube at the 8th. There's several ponds and streams in play in addition to a generous amount of bunkers and waste areas, but it's eminently more playable than the Nicklaus course. The layout has six sets of tees with the Rust tees at 6,431 yards, 70.4/129, course/slope ratings.
