Reston National is in Northern Virginia about 20 miles from Washington D.C. within a residential development off the Dulles Toll Road.

The golf course is a parkland layout with mature trees lining most fairways. There is substantial variety between the holes and hazards pop up only when they compliment the hole's design as it moves over rolling contours with a number of elevated tees and greens. There's four sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,880 yards, 73.0/131, course/slope ratings, designed by Ed Ault in the 1970s.
