The Fort is on the former Benjamin Harrison US Army Base in northeast Indianapolis off I-465 at 56th Street to the east.
The layout is over 240 acres of rolling, wooded terrain along unique, isolated fairways. It features a host of sand traps with conventional, waste, and pot bunkers, a stream traversing the northeast third of the property, and small to mid-sized undulating and contoured greens. It plays to 7,148 yards, 74.4/139 course/slope ratings from the back tees with four shorter sets of tees. Originally a 1930s William Diddle design, it was completely redesigned by Pete Dye and Tim Liddy in conjunction with the redevelopment of the base.
