The West Point Golf Course is located on the West Point US Army Academy on the west side of the Hudson River.

The golf course marches over terrain with significant elevation change along rocky and rolling topography adjoining the hillsides. The front nine is along somewhat wide fairways cut through tree lined corridors with ample landing areas. The back nine is tighter and requires accuracy off the tee and on the approach to the greens. The layout only plays to 5,991 yards at the tips, 70.6/136, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees. The course has been around since the first cadets laid out a simple course in 1894 and is known as "The Plain." Robert Trent Jones, Sr designed the course as it is today in the mid-1940s with the help of German POWs.
